Camp Miles Scout Reservation – BSA
During December of 2023, I volunteered at Camp Miles in Punta Gorda, Florida as a Camp Counselor. I was in charge of teaching about three class blocks of 10-20 campers how to sail. This included classroom style teaching as well as hands on experience. I was required to educate each camper on subjects such as caring for the boats, sailing terminology, water safety, sailing-specific first aid, and how to operate Sunfish Sailboats.
Cub Scout Day Camp Counselor
Camp Flying Eagle – BSA
During June of 2023, I volunteered at Camp Flying Eagle in Bradenton, Florida for their annual Cub Scout Day Camp. For a week, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, I was in charge of a group of young Scouts along with one other counselor. We were required to supervise the group through multiple activities throughout the campgrounds: archery, BB gun shooting, crafts, STEM activities, field games, and nature education activities.
